Meet the maker.

Resin ocean artwork, homeware and gifts to brighten your home.

Hi, I’m Holly, founder of Tides of Teal and I believe in the escapism power of the ocean.

That feeling of the sand between your toes, warm waves gently lapping on your feet, the sun shining on your face whilst the waves glisten and ripple around you. Get transported to your happy place every day and bring the ocean into your home.

Every piece is handmade with care and lovingly crafted in my little attic studio in Wellington, Somerset, UK. I have tried many crafts over the years, but nothing felt like ‘the one’, until one day I saw a wall of ocean paintings in our local emporium and something just clicked, I was like “oh I can just ONLY make the ocean”.

Later, a friend showed me a video of someone making oceans from resin and I knew instantly I had to have a go! Two mini bottles of resin (part A & part B) and some acrylic paint later, I was hooked!

Mixing the two fluid parts together causes a chemical reaction, making the liquid turn to solid. Whilst in its fluid state you can manipulate the resin to create all sorts of effects, such as the lacing and cells which replicate the view of a crashing wave from above.

The fluid nature of resin means each piece is completely unique and individual, with workmanship that you will be proud to display in your home for years to come.

The flow and freedom of working with resin allows me to continually explore, which has led to a fixation of working with this medium. The bright teals call to me and remind me of summers by the sea, in particular the ones spent living (in a tent!) and working in Polzeath, Cornwall.

Sat in a The Wave Project volunteer meeting, it suddenly clicked that I could use my business to do good in line with my values. That's why I now donate a percentage of each sale to help use the power of the ocean to improve mental health.

Like surfing (another passion of mine), the endless change of working with resin means you are constantly experimenting and no wave is the same! Seeing the joy of gifting or owning a piece of ocean delights and excites me to keep creating more.

I’ve won some awards! Check them out here.

What People Are Saying

“Absolutely love my wave/beach artwork, it's beautiful. It just looks so like waves... It's just perfect. I can't get to the beach at the moment, and this really feels like a little bit of the beach is with me instead. Would definitely recommend if you believe life is better at the beach :)”

— Krys (Etsy)

“I bought this clock as a gift for a friend. The seller even expedited the shipping so it would come on time! When it came it was so beautiful I wanted to keep it for myself. She loves it so much!”

— Kimmi (Etsy)

“Bought 'Mellow Days' on Etsy and it is beautiful! Highly recommend, great quality wood, flawless resin art, can get lost in the colours and the wave-like lacing and so much better than most stuff you can find online. Eco friendly packaging too - buy one!!”
